Get Bikini-Ready in the Caribbean - Recommend Travel

Sure, the Caribbean is wonderful for those lazy vacations spent mostly in a lounge chair by the beach, but if you?re looking for a little more action?maybe even breaking a sweat?we found a few Caribbean wellness getaways that are sure to leave you feeling pumped and revitalized.

To help kick start those New Year?s fitness resolutions early, Pink Sands, located on Harbor Island in The Bahamas, is offering a Get Fit Getaway with celebrity trainer Ramona Braganza Dec. 12-17.

Here, Braganza will teach guests her 321 Fitness Training Method, which incorporates a series of three cardio segments, two circuit strength training segments and one core segment, along with a 321 Nutrition Plan, designed to boost metabolism and help curb holiday cravings.

Priced from $2,999 pp dbl, the 5-night retreat includes individual consulting, group workouts, wellness tips and nutrition journaling, as well as meals and cooking classes with the property?s executive chef, James Van Dyke. To ease post-workout aches, a private in-room massage is also included.

Over in Nevis, Nisbet Plantation Beach Club is teaming up with Purescapes?a company specializing in weight loss and fitness retreats in the Caribbean?to offer all-inclusive wellness retreats beginning next month.

The first retreat, which takes place Nov. 5-12, features 7-night cottage-style accommodations, all meals and non-alcoholic beverages, unlimited one-on-one nutrition consultations, personal training sessions and a massage. Daily activities include morning yoga on the beach, outdoor fitness classes and offsite excursions such as hiking, mountain biking and kayaking.

Prices begin at $3,750 pp dbl. Additional dates are being planned for spring and winter 2012. For more information, visit nisbetplantation.com.

Meanwhile, St. Lucia is inviting fitness enthusiasts to its inaugural Health & Wellness Retreat. Taking place Nov. 17-20 in Soufriere, this event will bring together experts in yoga, nutrition and lifestyle coaching to lead a comprehensive program of wellness activities.

Participants can enjoy yoga and feng shui workshops, art and photography classes, as well as a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, birdwatching and more. Lunch will include interactive chef demonstrations and guests can indulge in an array of spa treatments throughout the retreat, as well.

Health & Wellness Retreat tickets are priced at $1,000 pp. Several hotels in Soufriere are also offering special rates during the retreat. Participating properties include Jalousie Plantation, Fond Doux Plantation Resort, Still Beach House and Hummingbird Beach Resort, among others.

And if you can?t make St. Lucia?s Health & Wellness Retreat next month, recommend a stay at The BodyHoliday?St. Lucia?s all-inclusive resort dedicated to health and well-being?which officially re-opened earlier this month following a $20 million renovation.

Highlights of the renovation include significant updates to the resort?s public spaces and dining venues, a new infinity-edge pool and an expanded Watersports Center, offering guests activities such as water skiing, tubing, snorkeling and windsurfing.
